Why I’m Writing Every Day in 2025
Insights and Experiments at the Intersection of Crypto, Tech, and Creativity
Note: This is being reposted after reclaiming rajgokal.substack.com, and hosting on rajgokal.com.
Hi, I’m Raj. I’m mostly known for co-founding Solana. If you’re reading this, welcome to the first post of my daily blog. Writing in public every day is my New Year’s Resolution for 2025, and while the idea of committing to this feels both exciting and daunting, it feels like the right time to dive in. As usual, I’m off to a great start by missing Day 1 due to travel and lack of connectivity, but as I’ve learned from Duolingo, one should never let a missed day ruin a streak.
Today will start off with two posts to make up for the false start :)
Why Write in Public?
There’s a reason 0xMert relentlessly rails on the Solana community for not writing enough. Writing is a tool for clarity, accountability, and connection. Some of my inspirations for this practice include Beeple, who creates a piece of art every single day; 0xDesigner, who puts ideas into the world consistently and thoughtfully; and Fred Wilson, whose blog has been a staple of the tech and VC communities for years.
For me, the goals are simple:
Clarify my thinking: There’s no better way to refine ideas than by putting them into words. Writing forces me to ask better questions and explore the nuances of topics I care about.
Memorialize predictions: The crypto, tech, and product landscapes are evolving faster than ever. By documenting thoughts, I’ll create a trail to look back on, not just for nostalgia but for learning.
Attract likeminded thinkers: I want this blog to be a beacon for people who are just as obsessed with pushing boundaries as I am. Collaboration starts with shared perspectives.
Grow faster: Whether it’s intellectually, professionally, or creatively, writing daily will keep me on a trajectory of continuous improvement.
What to Expect
The themes I’ll explore here reflect the threads that run through my career and passions:
Solana & Crypto: I’ll share insights from building in the crypto space, the state of Solana, lessons learned, and thoughts on where it’s heading.
Tech & Product: Building great products is part art, part science. I’ll reflect on strategies, processes, and stories from the trenches.
The Creative Journey: Whether it’s about launching something new or iterating on an existing idea, I’m always fascinated by the intersection of creativity and execution.
Join Me on the Journey
This blog is an experiment—and like all experiments, it’s bound to evolve. If you have suggestions, comments, or think I’m off the mark on anything, please call me out on Twitter. Writing in public is as much about listening as it is about speaking, and I’m here for the dialogue.
Let’s see where this goes.
Sir i have an idea in implementing decentralized cloud computing. How can i reach out to you.
